Summary: We are seeking a skilled Release Management Executive to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of software releases. The ideal candidate ensures smooth delivery of updates and new features with minimal disruption, working closely with cross-functional teams to manage schedules, risks, and deployments efficiently.
Job Description:
• Deployment Management:
Maintain the latest and updated records of all Versions and Releases for all Software Products.
Comply with the assignment of Version and Release unique identification numbers, as per the applicable procedure.
Records maintained should be categorized with Releases as Major, Minor & Hot fixes.
Records maintained should be categorized for Development, QA, UAT and Production Environments.
Records maintain should be comprehensive to derive ‘family tree’ of all releases.
•Release Planning and Coordination:
Coordinate with Product Managers and QA Manager to plan Release Dates and Release Notes for future releases.
Development Tasks (categorised under Projects and Milestones) should be clearly mapped to the planned future releases.
Use of CI/CD pipeline for seamless deployment of releases.
Recommend Automation Tools to reduce the efforts & time taken for the releases/deployments
• Risks and Issues Management:
Ensure proper documentation & filing of all Release Notes.
Document all pending issues & identified risks (with risk mitigation strategies) for all releases, in the Release Notes.
Maintain Risk Register for all identified Risks with risk mitigation strategies until the risks have been resolved.
Tools, Communications and Reporting:
Daily, Weekly & Monthly Report on Release Management to all stakeholders.
Routine coordination with and related reporting to the various stakeholders for planned future releases
Report continuous improvement initiatives and achievements by the various teams related to Release Management
Key Expertise / Skills:
- Excellent Analytical/Logical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel
- Good knowledge of MS Word & MS PowerPoint.
- Good communication skills in written and verbal English.
- Good understanding of SDLC process.
- Good understanding of waterfalls and agile methodologies.
- Good understanding of cloud environments (e.g. Azure, AWS, etc.)
- Team player to ensure optimal coordination within and across teams.
- At least 3 years’ work experience related to any role in SDLC.
Education Qualifications: B.Sc. or B.E. or B.Tech. in any engineering field.
Not Mandatory but preferred having certification in ITIL Foundation.
